The law, in plain words

Are you exempt? The microenterprise rule

under ten staff and €2M - many indies are, and we say so

The EAA exempts microenterprises that provide services: fewer than 10 people, and an annual turnover or balance sheet total not above €2 million. A great many independent publishers are genuinely under that line.

Two cautions, said plainly

  • The exemption is about the service you provide. If you manufacture a product covered by the Act, the microenterprise service exemption is not the same shelter; take advice if you are near the line.
  • Being exempt is not being invisible. Retailers increasingly ask for accessibility metadata regardless of the law, and a reader who cannot open your book does not check your headcount first.

If that is you

The free Reflow report may honestly be everything you need. It names every finding in plain words, unblurred, and you can fix them by hand using the guides on this page. We would rather tell you that than sell you a fix you are not obliged to buy.
